with a 5 speed n/a back in '97, drove it for 2 years and loved it. But as with so many of us, the need for more power eventually overcame the potential of the n/a car. I sold it and got a TT. I will never go back to n/a as they can't fill the need for BOOST! Lol After I sold my TT due to kids back in 2001, I felt the need to have a Z again. All the TT 5 speeds where way to much so I bought my '91 TT auto. I ran the piss out of her till the trany went out and did a 5 speed swap myself for around $1k. I bought my Z in march of '12 for $3k with just 125k on it. she is very clean inside and out. Just had a few hail dents and leaking VTC gears. Morel of the story I guess is this: If you feel that you will eventually want to go TT, then hold out for the right one at the right price. Don't be scared to convert from an auto to 5 speed as its really not to hard to do. :-) PS: because a saved a lot on the purchase price, it left more $ for my GT30 build! Lol
